Junior

Ginger Tabby Cat

Murdered by a cat hater on 21/6/2011, aged 8 years old.

Junior adopted us, as he was the next door neighbours cat, but when she
moved out, he didn’t want to go with her, so she said we could keep him.
That was 6 years ago. He thence became the youngest member of the Pittman &
Whitney family of Slacks Creek QLD.

He was our baby! His death has left a huge hole in our lives& space in the
bed & is sadly missed.

Nancy, my heart is broken, my constant buddy and best friend is no longer at my side.I wake at night wishing you were still cuddled up to me in bed keeping both of us warm. You gave us all so much love, joy, laughter, and company, you were so intelligent it used to amaze us all.

Little Nancy with such a big heart and love for life, you enjoyed every minute of it, all our adventures and outings. You died in my arms, which was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do but I’m so glad I got to be with you to say goodbye and love and squeeze you one last time, you are now no longer in pain, to hear you take your last breath was the minute I felt my heart break. Our house is not so much a home anymore it is empty and quiet without you by my side. I find myself glancing towards your favorite spots, on your bed  in the sun looking out the glass doors and watching the world go by, or waiting for you to run and greet me with your little smile that you gave every time I returned, but now they will just be my treasured memories.

To love something so much makes it so hard to let go, I hope you have now found your new spot in the sun and your watching over us. Thank you for your love, we will see you again in time.  You were loved by us
all, we will forever miss you. Be at peace my beautiful girl.

Bernie

In January 2005 we had the honour of adopting the most beautiful little
dog who we named Bernie who was approximately 2 years old. He was
extremely underweight, required knee surgery and needed to be spayed.
However I fell in love with him from the moment I saw him, as did our
other dog Georgie who I bought along to help find a special friend to keep
her company. Bernie was the most gentle, loving little soul who liked
nothing more than to go on walks at Newport Lakes and to sleep next to you
whenever you sat down. His one vice in life was cheese, and he would come
running from the other end of the house no matter how quietly I tried to
remove the cheese packet from the fridge!

Bernie

Bernie

Little Bernie had a collapsed trachea which we watched very closely all
his life, however it masked the fact that he also had heart disease. We
always kept him with us and carried him when he tired of running – we did
the best for him, but unfortunately we could not mend his little heart,
and on Sunday 24th July 2011 at 9.40pm I made the hardest decision of my
life and had him put to sleep. He could not fight anymore, and I stayed
with him until he made the journey over the rainbow bridge. We are all so
incredibly sad and for such a little dog he has left a huge emptiness in
our house, and as the alpha dog, our other dogs Georgie and Millie, as
well as Simba the cat, seem very quiet and lost with out him.

I am so thankful to Bernie for giving us all the most wonderful 6.5 years
of his life. I have attached my favourite photos of Bernie, as well as a
picture we took on Sunday 31st July 2011 when we went on our first walk at
Newport Lakes without Bernie – the most incredible rainbow I have ever
seen – complete from end to end, which I would like to believe Bernie made
for me.

Many thanks for sending us the beautiful sympathy card and for your kind
words – it was very much appreciated.
