Cujo was one of a kind. He loved to chase planes & birds. He loved to have his belly scratched all the time. He was absolutely loved by myself, Alan, Tahlia & Hannah.

He was taken from us so suddenly, & we be missed every minute of every day.

We loved him very much.

Bonnie was the sweetest dog ever. She would come to the shops with me and while I was shopping she would sit in the drivers seat till I returned. When I went to bed all I would have to say to her was “Bonnie bed” and she would rush to my bed, wait until I hopped in, then jump in give me a lick behind the ears. She would then snuggle up under the doona and wouldn’t move until I did.

She just loved that and watching TV on my lap.

She was my baby, RIP bonnie… you will not be forgotton.

Bryson

Bryson, our precious and much loved white Persian cat died on 28 November
2011 aged almost 13.

Born in London in June 1998 with a severe heart condition, Bryson later
became a ‘Cheshire’ cat before travelling the long journey in 2005 to
Australia with the family.

Bryson, or as we fondly called him ‘Charlie’ overcame many obstacles
throughout his younger years; I am sure using up many of his 9 lives. His
doggie friend and protector, Isabella, our Cavalier King Charles is lost
without him. We all miss him very much but have the most wonderful
memories.

Butterball Brown’s owners: Mark, Sue, Callum & Catriona from Deniliquin

Butterball Brown was the most exceptional cat. You could talk to him and he would talk to you. He really used up some of his “9 lives”. He survived a house fire he spent a few days in hospital with smoke inhalation, burns to his nose, and was covered in soot. He ran away twice, but thankfully we found him again.

The a few years later, the day after we moved house he got out the window, and was run over. We were searching for him a few times and then found him across the road under a tree.

Meg

I adopted Meg from the North Melbourne Lost Dogs Home in July 1997, she had been adopted from the home previously, but returned when she was 18 months old because her owners wanted to “travel”. I adopted Meg because she was one of two adult cats in this section at the time, the rest were kittens, and I knew that people would more likely adopt the younger cats. So I adopted the two adult cats Meg and Sophie.

I flew them both to Brisbane in 1999 when I relocated here. Sophie passed away in 2000. Meg and I spent 15 years together until she passed away on 9th September 2011. She never left my side and was the most faithful of furry felines. I miss her cuddling in to me at night. She was a wonderful cat and I am so thankful that I adopted her that day. She was cremated and is home with me now.

While the grief is overwhelming at times, it can never take away from the love that she gave throughout her long life.

Here is a photo of little Chloe, taken only a few weeks before her death, which was 19th October, 2011.

I first saw her at Keysborough Animal Shelter, approx 11years ago. A sad eyed, very thin little dog, that had 4 deliberately broken little legs, that had self healed, very crooked. When she was transferred to The Lost Dogs home, I was told she is approx 5years old, a silky terrier X and female, but her crooked little legs will probably need operations in due time, as she will get pain. I was informed this will be very costly, and when I asked approximately how costly, I did hesitate, but I couldn’t forget her little face, so took the chance.

I have had 11 wonderful years, and only lately noticed she had some pain on occasions. She never had those operations.
The day she arrived, she demanded to be the boss, and put my other little four in their places, and they let her! She always jumped the highest, ran the fastest, and to the end, took me for a walk.

In 10years, all 5 have now gone. I have loved all equally, but losing Chloe has been the hardest, because she was the only one since my other little Chloe died Christmas Eve, 2009. She also was from the Lost Dogs Home and a little terrier X. Not adopted by me, but sadly by someone, who later didn’t want her either.

I thank The Lost Dogs Home for both these little angels who I consider the greatest gifts ever. Nothing compares to the love they gave me.

15 years old, was put to sleep on monday10/10/11 at 2.30pm because of being unwell. She was a tenterfield terrier.

My daughter gave her to me for Christmas at the age of 8 weeks.

We called her sissy for short. A great companion, loved by all the family especially the grand children. We all miss you Sissy.

Dark Tortoiseshell/Torbie cat

5 years old unsure of death you just disappeared.

I have had Bear in my life from her birth. Bear you were a fantastic cat, I loved sitting on the couch curled up together watching movies.

I miss you meowing at the front door and you tapping me on the forehead in the middle of the night wanting to come and sleep with me.

I even miss you meowing nonstop just to make sure that we knew you were there.

I miss opening the door to you and you running off and as soon as I close the door you come back.

Love you my darling baby Bear.
